Policies and Procedures

Booking Fee

All Booking are subject to a 50% booking fee. This must be paid within 48 hours of requesting an appointment to secure your time slot.


The booking fee is  non refundable with less than 24 hours notice of cancellation a per our cancellation policy (below).



Cancellations

We request that you give at least 24 hours notice of cancellation by phone or by private message on the 'Beauty by Melissa Ilfracombe' Facebook page. This not only allows us to reschedule your appointment to a more convenient time but also allows us to offer the appointment to other clients.

The 24 hours cancellation policy starts 24 hours prior to your appointment time.

If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, but still on the day before your appointment you will be charged 50%

If you cancel on the day of your appointment or do not turn up to your appointment 100% is payable. You will be sent an invoice which will need to be paid before you are able to book any further appointments.

If you do not attend or cancel late 3 times or more we will require a 100% booking fee at the time of booking for all future bookings to secure your appointment time.



Amending Appointments

Any amendments to your booking need to be made at least 24 hours prior to your appointment or you will be charged for your original booking.


For Example

  • If you book for 2 treatments and only need one when you arrive you will still be charged for both

If you require any additional services other than those you have booked in for eg, Nail Art, Gel Polish removal etc Please let us know with as much notice as possible so hat we can either book out more time or reschedule to a more suitable time.




Timekeeping

Please be aware that if you arrive late to your appointment we may need to reschedule to a more suitable time and you will be liable for the cancellation fee. 



Patch Testing

The following treatments require a Patch Test at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.

  • Tinting
  • Lash Lift
  • Classic Lash Extensions

Please note there are no exceptions , even if you have had the treatment elsewhere you will still need to be patch tested. Patch tests will be repeated every 6 months. This is a legal requirement.



Treatment Restrictions

Due to insurance we do have some treatment restrictions that we must abide by. These are listed below. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.


Minors

If you are under 16 you are unable to have our full range of treatments. Please see the list below as to which treatments you can have. You will also need to get a parental consent form signed prior to any treatment if you are under 18.

If you are under 16 you will also need a parent or guardian present for the duration of your treatment.

Pregnancy

During the first 12 weeks of pregnancy we cannot offer you any treatments.

After 12 weeks we can then offer most of our regular treatment.

Tinting Treatments will require a new patch test at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.

We will be unable to perform Lash Lift treatments until you are no longer pregnant or breastfeeding.


Cancer


Unfortunately , once you have been diagnosed , we are not able to offer any treatments, this includes if you are undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Once you have finished your treatment, or up to 5 years after you have finished treatment we can offer you most of our regular treatments with medical consent. This will need to be signed by your GP or Oncologist.


With regards to Skin Cancer, again we cannot offer you any treatments until you have completed all treatment and any wounds have full healed. You will then need a medical consent form signed by your GP or Oncologist.



Payment

All payments for treatments must be made in full upon completion of your treatment. We accept all major credit and debit cards, cash and Paypal. If you are using a gift voucher please bring this to your appointment.



Refunds/Complaints


We hope you are happy with the treatments and customer service from Beauty by Melissa. However if you are unhappy in any way please do not hesitate to contact us straight away so we can rectify any problems as soon as they occur.
